It is a print on a smooth (coated cotton per the description) side of a kind of sponge rubber type backing and is okay hanging on the wall sort of. It is thin, lightweight and not heavy enough to be what I would call a rug. It is more like a lightweight bathmat or padded, non-slip tablecloth.
